Core focus of the role

As General Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind the success of the scheme—responsible for the overall performance, reputation, and day-to-day operations of the development. From resident satisfaction to team leadership, commercial performance to community engagement, your influence will be felt across every touchpoint.

Day-to-day of the role

• Lead and inspire a multi-disciplinary on-site team (including lettings, front of house, maintenance, and events).
• Champion exceptional customer service and community building, driving a hospitality-led experience for residents.
• Oversee lettings performance and resident retention, working closely with the central marketing and leasing teams.
• Manage budgets, operational expenditure, and supplier performance to ensure financial targets are met.
• Ensure full compliance with health & safety, GDPR, and industry regulations.
• Represent the brand with pride, professionalism, and authenticity—acting as the face of the building.

Skills you need

• Proven experience as a General Manager or Senior Manager within Build to Rent, residential property, or high-end hospitality.
• A commercial mind and operational rigour, combined with a genuine passion for people and service.
• Comfortable managing P&L, reporting KPIs, and driving team performance.
• A natural leader with excellent communication skills and a calm, solution-oriented approach.
• Tech savvy and comfortable navigating lettings platforms, resident apps, and internal systems.
